Ramat Gan

Ramat Gan is situated in Central Israel, in the area of the Tel Aviv urban area.

It has over 127 thousand inhabitants, its surface area is 12 km2. Moshav Ir Ganim, set up in 1921, renamed to Ramat Gan in 1923, gradually developed into an industrial-commercial centre. This was significantly spurred by inflow if Jewish immigrants from Europe.

These days Ramat Gan occupies an important position on the business map of Israel. This is where Moshe Snitzer established diamond cutting centre in the sixties, which has since then become the largest in the world. Diamond stock exchange operates here, as well as the Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum.
The first agreement between Ramat Gan and Wroclaw was signed in 1997, and amended in 1999, adding the “Agreement on cooperation in education and youth exchange”.
