Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, at the foot of the Taunus Mountains.

Since 1945 it has been the capital of the state of Hesse. Is has 270 thousand inhabitants. The visitors can choose from variety of cultural events, including avant-garde and modern culture.
The city hosts the European Circus Festival, the “Caligari” cinema and the Music and Artistic School; furthermore - a prize for women’s criminal novel is given here. Wiesbaden is a well-known health resort, and the Spa House with a cinema, built on the initiative of Wilhelm II, is one of its most important monuments.

These days it is a place of international congresses, conferences, exhibitions and cultural events. While in Wiesbaden, it is worth to see the Hessian State Theatre, neo-Gothic church Marktkirche, historic Old Town with a palace, city hall and fountain of bakers – the favourite meeting place.
The agreement on cooperation between Wiesbaden and Wroclaw was signed in 1987.
